Need to Breathe

We discovered one of our favorite bands, Needtobreathe was going to be performing in one of our favorite hotels, The Venetian. We knew we needed to make it happen! And so we did.

Of course, as luck would have it, the NFL Draft was being held in Las Vegas at the same time. It turns out, it wasn't all that big of a deal...I mean, it was busy, but we steered clear of the NFL Experience and did our own thing. :)

We arrived Thursday night, grabbed a late dinner at The Mirage Craft Beer in Las Vegas - The Still - The Mirage (mgmresorts.com), did a little gambling and hit the sack.

I woke up at the crack of dawn (darn time zone difference), and we made our way to Planet Hollywood for breakfast at Blondies Sports Bar & Grill, the Cosmopolitan for posh gambling, and then New York New York for a roller coaster ride, and then a late lunch at Cañonita in the Venetian.

Then we headed back to our room for a nap so we could survive the rest of the day, and got ready for the big concert!

What a concert it was.....so so good! They put on quite the show in a beautiful venue. It was so worth the trip to Vegas....not that we needed an excuse. ;)

After the concert, we found one of Jake's friend's friends who happened to be in Vegas, and then we went to Harrah's and grabbed some cheese fries and then headed back to the hotel....it was a late night, and I needed to get some zzzz's so I could wake up too early again.

So I woke up too early again, and Jake woke up too early because sharing is caring. We went to the Cosmo to get some breakfast and more posh gambling before walking 500 miles to the new Hilton resort (Las Vegas Hilton at Resorts World) at the opposite end of the strip.

It was alright, but so far from anything else, and there really didn't seem to be a whole lot going on there so....I'm not quite sure it was worth the walk. But we got our "free" drinks at the slot machines and made our way back to the Wynn.

We found a nice outdoor patio with a small bar overlooking a giant waterwall feature. It was a lovely break! We had a refreshing cocktail and picked out a show to see that evening, and then found our way to our hotel for some lunch. Sugarcane Las Vegas | Raw Bar & Grill | Seafood Restaurant (venetianlasvegas.com) was...interesting. :)

Then we did some fantastic people watching from our hotel room which overlooked the Venetian pools. Oh it was hilarious. Anywho...

We got ready for the show at The Mirage. The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil - Showtimes | Vegas.com was not the best Cirque show I had ever seen, but it was entertaining enough....gotta love the music!

Then we went to OTORO - The Mirage (mgmresorts.com) for another late dinner. It was delicious! A bit more gambling and then off to the hotel to pack and get ready to head home in the morning.

Sunday was the longest day ever....no coffee....for either of us. We wanted to make sure we got to the airport in time so we skipped the coffee shops in the hotel (with really long lines), and then just decided we wouldn't drink any coffee.

By the time we got home, we were exhausted.

I still haven't recovered. ;)
